Kash Patel, of Indian descent, has been appointed Chief of Staff to Chris Miller, the caretaker Secretary of Defense. That's according to Pentagon sources.


Donald Trump fired Defense Secretary Mark Asper on Monday after losing the election. Miller, director of the National Counterterrorism, was appointed interim secretary of defense.

Miller took over the Pentagon on Tuesday. After that, Kashke was appointed as his Chief of Staff. Jane Stewart was previously in this position.On Wednesday, he resigned as chief of staff.


Kash Patel's full name is Kashyap Pramod Patel. However, in the US administration, he is better known as Kash Patel. Kash served as an adviser on counter-terrorism on the House Permanent Select Committee. He joined the White House in 2019 as Senior Director of the Counterterrorism Directorate of the National Security Council (NSC).

Kash's father is from Uganda and his mother is from Tanzania. Although cough was born in New York, it has its roots in Gujarat. Kash's family immigrated to the United States from Canada in 1980. After that they settled in New York. Cough was born there.


Cough spent his school and college life in New York. From there he moved to Florida. He worked there as a state public defender for the first four years. He worked as a federal public defender for the next four years. Cough then moved from Florida to Washington DC. There he worked as a terrorism prosecutor in the Department of Justice. While serving in the Department of Justice, he joined the Special Operations Command in the Department of Defense.
